SKB LIONS LAUNCHES "LION INSIGHT" EYEGLASSES COLLECTION DRIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL EYE CARE CLINICS

The SKB Lions Club recently launched an Eyeglasses Collection Drive in partnership with local eye care centres.

To celebrate the launch of this Eyeglasses Collection Drive, The SKB Lions held a Ceremony that took place at the Wesley Methodist Church Hall held under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian, the Governor-General.  A reception of light refreshments followed.

At this Ceremony persons presented Lion President Mrs. Patricia Farrell-Heyliger with their old pair of eyeglasses.   In return for their kind donation, the Lion President presented them with a Lions-sponsored eyeglass collection box to put in their office.

In attendance was other prominent residents of St. Kitts and Nevis who wear glasses.

Besides the field of health care, our specially invited guests represented the arenas of industry and academia.

This was designed to reinforce the point that eyeglasses can help adults to succeed in the workplace and children to succeed in the classroom.

The media was in attendance to put this important initiative ‘in sight’ of the public.

SKB LIONS HOSTS SEMINAR ON "LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES IN THE 21ST CENTURY"
Good Management is the Foundation of Organisational Success:

The Management Revolution has brought with it challenges that managers must face if they are to be effective in the management of their organization. A ‘new kind' of manager is required for the revolution to succeed. With this in mind, the St Kitts Basseterre Lions Club has decided to be the pioneer in this venture and hosted a seminar on “Leadership Challenges in the 21st Century”.

Dr Sealy is a Management Consultant who has worked with major firms in Trinidad and Tobago. These include Cable & Wireless, Republic Bank, The Unit Trust Corporation of Trinidad & Tobago, The Ministry of Public Administration & Information; Regional institutions such as Eastern Caribbean Institute of Bankers (ECIB) and International firms such as Norsk Hydro, Phoenix Park Gas, and British American Tobacco in a variety of areas of organizational development.

The seminar, geared towards Middle and Senior Managers, sought to provide the necessary skills to assist managers in overcoming the challenges that they face in this rapidly changing environment.
